Parliament Suggested to issue Packaged food for Elementary School children

Parliament of India have decided to distribute Packaged food for the mid-day meal instead of cooking in the kitchen-cum stores for elementary school children.




            HRD which is the commitee of Parliament request the Ministry to "Provide the packaged nutrition food in conformity with standard in that scheme."

            They are going to use the pilot basis in some of the notable districts, so that the food prepared for elementary school children will be scanned especially for hygienic and the Quality of the food. This commitee is headed by the Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes.

            And also the Food and Nutrition Board will be providing the Training to Teachers and Cook-cum helpers for managing and checking the Quality of Food prepared for the school children.

            Under the Right To Education Act (RTE) the particular concern in that act is to verify the requirements needed for Kitchen-cum stores but many school are lagging in that concern still they are behind in the infrastructure.

            They decided a deadline for meeting this requirement is ended on March 31st 2013. According to the last year report there should be 9.55 lakh kitchen-cum stores but only 63 percent of the work has been completed mainly in Andhra Pradesh  only 3000 kitchen cum stores have been builted instead of builting 75,000 thousand kitchen-cum stores.

           Proper kitchen stores should be placed in every schools then only the Children from every elementary schools will be get Quality of food.
